Possible Applications
- Marine and Offshore structural steel
- Oil & Gas Industries
- General & Chemical Industries
Air Temperature |
5-50°C |
Substrate Temperature |
5-65°C |
Relative Humidity |
50% minimum, 85% maximum |
Surface temperature shall always be at least 3°C above Dew Point. Do
not expose the coated articles where there are chances of condensation
on the surface.

Mixing
Aqua Mastic is supplied in 2 parts, a liquid binder (Part A) and a liquid curing agent (Part B).
Always mix curing agent (Part B) into the liquid binder (Part A) while stirring. 75-100 RPM
mixer is recommended.
Surface Preparation
All surfaces to be coated shall be dry and free from oil, grease, dust, dirt and any foreign
matter that can adversely affect adhesion of coating. Solvent cleaning as per SSPC SP1 shall
be conducted wherever necessary.
Steel Substrates
Surface shall be prepared by hand/power tool to achieve ST2 / ST3 standard of surface
preparation as per ISO 8501-1. Any tightly adhering old coating may remain on surface. For
larger surface areas, abrasive blasting may be carried out to achieve Sa 1 or Sa 2 as per
ISO 8501-1 depending on project specification.
New Concrete
New concrete must be allowed to cure for minimum of 28 days. Any laitance or efflorescence
must be removed prior to coating. New concrete may be acid etched to create sufficient
anchorage for coating. Wash the substrate until neutral.
Old Concrete
Old concrete must be inspected for structural strength prior to application of Aqua Mastic. Any old and aged coating must be inspected for loss of adhesion. If such condition prevail, it is imperative to remove old coating prior to application of Aqua Mastic. Any tightly adherent
coating may remain on the substrate.
Thinning
Aqua T01 – 10 - 20 %
Application data
Steel Substrate
Preferably apply first coat of Aqua Mastic with brush. If in case of large surface area, Aqua
Mastic may be sprayed, however, care shall be taken to ensure application of stripe coat of
Aqua Mastic. Apply in even and uniform pattern. Do not exceed recommended wet film
thickness per coat.
Application over Inorganic Zinc Silicate Primer (Aqua IZ 16-07)
For application over inorganic zinc silicate, it is recommended to apply a mist coat of Aqua
Mastic prior to application of full coat.
Application over Concrete
The first coat on concrete is expected to be soaked inside the concrete. To achieve this, Aqua Mastic may be diluted maximum 20% using Aqua T01 and a thin coat (~50μ) may
be applied on concrete. Allow to dry for 4 hours before overcoating with Aqua Mastic full
coat.
Airless Spray
Recommended. Tip range: 0.43-0.58 mm at 3500 - 4000 psi tip pressure.
Conventional Spray
Recommended. Do not exceed spray pressure than 4 Kg/Sq.Cm
Brush / Roller
Recommended
